Interview

What made you decide on your major?

I decided my major based on its versatility, adaptability, and the actual description. I believe as an ISE major I am exposed to different techniques and skills that can be applied in multiple fields. Industrial and systems engineers are known to optimize processes and reduce waste, I feel as though that is extremely important especially since the United States produces large amounts of waste daily.

Why did you decide to pursue the Energy Scholars program and what do you hope to gain from it?

I decided to pursue the Energy Scholars Program because I am extremely passionate about renewable energy and sustainability. As an industrial and systems engineer I am not exposed to the energy industry, my major mostly focuses on supply chain, automation, and machinery. I wanted to gain exposure to the energy industry to help me in my future career.

What are your career aspirations within renewable energy? What kind of impact do you hope to make in your chosen field?

I hope to have renewable energy implemented in more places across the states and worldwide. I also hope that power for homes and businesses will become more affordable. I want to leave an impact that encourages other people to learn and "step outside their majors" to pursue what they are passionate about, and increase advocacy for helping the Earth.

What is one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you?

I love most genres of music.
