I decided on pursuing Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) because I enjoy working on hands-on projects and in labs, while also having the flexibility to learn about many different disciplines. As someone who enjoys both art and STEM, MSE was fitting because it allows me to learn about materials that I can apply in my hobbies (metals, clay, etc) and also within my professional career (energy, nanotechnology. etc.)
I decided to pursue the Energy Scholars program because I was drawn to the community the program has in conjunction with learning technical skills. I am excited to bond with my cohort, make meaningful connections, and challenge myself by learning new things!
Within renewable energy, I am interested in the intersection of sustainable materials in energy. I find energy storage systems particularly interesting, and would love to work on innovating ways to optimize these devices.
I enjoy being in the mosh pit during rock concerts!
