Interview

What made you decide on your major?

Entering college I knew I wanted to be in the engineering side of renewables, and the more macro-scale design focus of mechanical engineering is what ultimately drew me to the major.

Why did you decide to pursue the Energy Scholars program and what do you hope to gain from it?

The Energy Scholars program provides the perfect launch point for those striving to be leaders in the clean energy transition. Coming from an engineering background, I'd love to gain more insight into the management side of the industry that I hope to find myself in later down the line.

What are your career aspirations within renewable energy? What kind of impact do you hope to make in your chosen field?

To make renewable energy more accessible to my home country of Sudan, and other countries in similar geopolitical situations.

What is one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you?

I'm part of an improv comedy group on campus.
