Interview

What made you decide on your major?

I’ve always been a data-driven problem solver who loves listening and understanding people’s ideas and insights. So, I felt like business analytics would be a great position to express that.

Why did you decide to pursue the Energy Scholars program and what do you hope to gain from it?

I decided to pursue the Energy Scholars program because I’m really interested in how energy sits at the intersection of technology, business, and real-world impact. Coming from a background in analytics and product thinking, I wanted to be in an environment where I can apply those skills to something that directly shapes infrastructure and sustainability. I’m hoping to gain a deeper, hands-on understanding of how energy markets actually work, while also learning from people who are actively building solutions in the space. More than anything, I want to grow my ability to think strategically about large-scale problems and see how data and technology can be used to make energy systems more efficient and accessible.

What are your career aspirations within renewable energy? What kind of impact do you hope to make in your chosen field?

My career aspiration within renewable energy is to work with data, technology, and product development to help build solutions that make energy systems more efficient, transparent, and accessible. I’m especially interested in roles where I can use data to inform decisions, whether that’s optimizing energy usage, improving grid reliability, or helping companies transition to cleaner sources. In terms of impact, I want to contribute to making renewable energy not just more sustainable, but also more scalable and practical for everyday use. Ultimately, I hope to be part of building products or systems that simplify complex energy challenges and create real, measurable improvements in how energy is produced and consumed.

What is one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you?

I’m surprisingly good at remembering random details about people, which makes me either a great friend or slightly suspicious.
