At LevelTen, some of the most meaningful recognition comes from your peers - the people who see your impact every day. That’s the spirit behind our quarterly Values Awards, where employees nominate colleagues who bring our company values to life.
This quarter, we’re thrilled to celebrate Evonne Liew, Director of Tax Marketplace, as the winner of the Bias for Action award. Her teammates recognized her for consistently stepping up, moving fast on complex challenges, and driving progress when it matters most.
To mark the occasion, Evonne shared a few reflections on her work, her approach, and what this recognition means to her.

Let’s start with a little intro. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do at LevelTen?
During my four years at LevelTen, I’ve held a number of product marketing and communications roles, but the connecting thread has been taking new products and services to market. I helped launch our energy data business as well as the business that I now lead: Tax Credit Marketplace. TCM brings together buyers and sellers of clean energy tax credits and enables them to get deals done efficiently. This ensures that solar, wind, and battery storage developers, as well as others in the clean energy supply chain, get access to critical financing to build new sources of clean power. Outside of work, I enjoy going on mountain adventures, learning new languages, and cooking.
In your experience, what makes LevelTen a special place to work?
LevelTen has the rare blend of what I look for in a job: a meaningful mission, opportunities to challenge myself in my field, and incredible people. Every day, I get to work on solutions to the climate crisis with colleagues who are smart, kind, and funny!
Huge congratulations on winning the Bias for Action award! What does this recognition mean to you?
It means that really smart people at LevelTen have trusted me to figure out how to get things done – things the company has never done before. And that trust means a lot to me. It also means they’ve given me grace whenever I’ve made mistakes. I’m very grateful to have such a supportive leadership team and colleagues.
Can you share a moment or project where you really felt like you moved the needle?
Working with The Nature Conservancy to launch a new clean energy procurement framework is one of many highlights of my time at LevelTen. It’s a methodology that lays out how corporations can procure with the 3 C’s in mind – climate, community, and conservation – in order to maximize the positive impact they create on the environment.
Another highlight was launching our European PPA Price Index report right after Russia invaded Ukraine, which sent a shock throughout European and global energy markets. It was pretty memorable working with our analysts to unpack the cascade of events, understand the market impacts, and bring those insights to clean energy buyers, sellers, and other folks in the industry who needed to understand what was going on.
What advice would you give to others who want to make a difference or lead change at LevelTen?
Making a difference often means being brave enough to try something new or difficult. And, what I’ve learned from being in the alpine is that being brave just means doing it scared. Set a goal, work hard, and do it scared – you’re more capable than you think you are.
Know why you are doing something. If you can answer that question, chances are, you’re on a good path forward.
Thank you, Evonne, for sharing your story and inspiring all of us with your bold thinking, grit, and heart.
At LevelTen, we’re proud to work alongside people who turn ambition into action and lead by example just like Evonne. Stay tuned each quarter as we continue spotlighting employees who embody our core values and help move the clean energy industry forward.
