Deepti Hatch works at LevelTen Energy as Senior Product Manager. She’s been a LevelTen Employee for one year and 8 months. Deepti recently sat down to provide some insights into her experience working at LevelTen Energy.
What did you do before joining LevelTen?
I was a Product Manager at Sprout Social, where I led the development of the interactive analytics dashboard product that enabled marketers to grow their businesses using social. I took a year off to travel across South East Asia before I joined LevelTen in 2020.
What made you want to work in the renewable energy/climate tech sector?
Having worked in the social media industry for a long time, I got to work with a lot of Fortune 500 companies, but I felt the work I was doing wasn’t making a big impact. I wanted to work in the climate tech sector so I could help shape a product that would make a difference.
Why does LevelTen’s mission resonate with you?
I remember the first time I saw alpine lakes on a hike and felt so grateful to be there. I live in Seattle because we are surrounded by beautiful ecosystems. Climate change puts all of us at risk. I joined LevelTen because I wanted to have an impact on the direction we take as a company towards our mission of accelerating the clean energy transition. Increasing the share of energy produced by renewables gets us one step closer to a cleaner and healthier future and I feel grateful to be part of a company that will get us there.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
As a Product Manager, I enjoy working closely with all of our stakeholders. I listen to what customers want and work with our Engineering, Design, Sales, and Marketing teams to put all the pieces together. It’s a fantastic undertaking to shepherd a product from beginning to end and to turn a vision into reality. Seeing the impact the products we build have on customers is the most rewarding part of my job.
What do you think is the best perk or benefit LTE offers?
Office dogs! I have cats at home, who would kill me if I tried to take them to work. I love hanging out with my coworkers’ dogs. Anytime I need a break, they’re always there to de-stress me.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I love traveling, and I’m glad I got my big trip in before the pandemic. I also love to cook, and I’ve been having fun learning to make desserts and cravings like cheesecakes, fudge, churros, etc. My most recent creation was a marshmallow Nutella dessert pizza.
Any hidden talents you’d like to share?
I think I’m better at heights than most people. I’ve climbed trees and hammocked in one 100 feet high :)
What’s your favorite LTE moment/memory?
One of my favorite memories was a virtual happy hour we had last year when we’d started working from home. Eric, our CTO, would come up with competitions for every happy hour. We did trivia, costume contests, and scavenger hunts. I was staying at a friend’s solar-powered cabin and had to make do with whatever they had there, which ended up being a treasure trove. Remote work makes it hard to connect with people. The virtual happy hours were so much fun and I really appreciated having them amidst all the craziness.
